Back from the first three days of Fashion Week. Lot’s of work, lots of photographers, lots of waiting and traveling on the subway. We covered some really good shows and Fashion Night Our throughout Manhattan was a mob scene. ANJ image last week from Hurricane Earl made it into NYT Week In PIctures. Off to the Catskills for a quick shoot Sunday and the this week is packed full of assignments, wrapping up some old and starting new. Pics from Fashion Week to follow.

09.09.10 First day at Lincoln Center

New digs for Fashion Week this year. If you ever shot at Bryant Park you notice the difference as soon as you pull into the parking garage, which is right below the venue. Today was a slow day…waited in line for credentials….scouted out the different venues for the shows…and checked out the lobby and press lounge. Staying in Brooklyn while shooting, so it’s up and at ‘um early tomorrow morning for a 9am show, and then all day till DKNY Fashion Night Out till 11pm! One high point was my assistant at the show was able to meet Miss J. from “America’s Next Top Model”.

Off to NYC to shoot the MErcedes Benz Fashion Week. First we have to hit the press check in which we have been warned takes a while. Then it’s off to cover some shows. Friday is our big day, going from 9am through 11pm. I’ll try and get something up while we are there. Coming back Sunday and then back to NYC next week.

09.04.10 A little something in the Times about Earl

leave a comment »

Made this image while on assignment for The New York Times waiting for Hurricane Earl to hit the New Jersey coast. Funny thing, it was my second frame, 20 minutes into the assignment. I spent the next 5 hours driving up and down the Monmouth County coast making images and waiting for the high tide to hit, and then made more images.

If I left after the above shot, that would have been, say, 400 bucks an hour.
